In the early morning hours of March 16, 2019, the city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was disturbed by an act of violence that claimed the life of 34-year-old Ashton Jackson. A Black male, Jackson was discovered by Pine Bluff police officers around 4:40 a.m. near the area of the Martha Mitchell Expressway and Blake Street. He had sustained what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.
