In the quiet town of Ashdown, Arkansas, the evening of October 6, 2020, was shattered by violence that ended the life of Dennis Graves. The 48-year-old Black man was discovered lying in a driveway on Byrne Street around 8:47 p.m., suffering from a single gunshot wound. First responders and officers on the scene provided medical aid before he was rushed to the Little River County Hospital by ambulance. Despite their efforts, Graves succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
