On the evening of May 6, 2021, a burst of violence shattered the peace in the small city of Brinkley, Arkansas, leading to the untimely death of 33-year-old Bernard Pearson. The fatal encounter unfolded shortly before 6:00 PM in the parking lot of the Brinkley Housing Authority office located at 418 Chicago Street. Pearson was shot at the scene and found alive by local police who were the first to arrive.
