In the early morning hours of December 13, 2022, a physical altercation outside a residence in Brinkley, Arkansas, tragically ended the life of 53-year-old Jimmy Lee Dillard. Brinkley Police officers responded to a call at approximately 1:30 a.m. at 510 A South Carter Street, where they found Dillard deceased at the scene. The initial investigation pointed to a homicide, prompting the Brinkley Police Department to request the assistance of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation
Division to lead the case. Dillard's body was subsequently transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the precise manner and cause of death.
As the investigation unfolded, special agents with the state police quickly developed information that identified a suspect in the fatal shooting. Tren-Terrious Stidum, a 24-year-old resident of Brinkley, was named as the individual sought in connection with Dillard's death. A coordinated effort between the Arkansas State Police, Brinkley Police officers, and Monroe County Sheriff's deputies led them to a residence in Brinkley where Stidum was located.
Stidum was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center. He was held on a charge of first-degree murder and was scheduled for a bond hearing in a Brinkley court the following day. The swift arrest brought a suspect into custody, marking a significant development in the investigation into the violent death of Jimmy Lee Dillard.
