In the early evening of July 11, 2021, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a parking lot in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Timothy Paul Beeles, II, a 21-year-old male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. The incident unfolded at the 600 block of W. Main Street, where responding officers discovered Beeles' body.
The investigation into the death of Timothy Beeles, II, quickly led to a suspect.
Within an hour of the shooting, law enforcement officers with the Jacksonville Police Department took a 15-year-old into custody. The teenager was identified as Terrell Leav Howard. Investigators were aided by surveillance video from a nearby bank which reportedly captured the incident. The clothing the suspect was wearing at the time of his arrest matched that of the individual seen in the video footage.
Terrell Leav Howard was charged as an adult with Murder in the First Degree and Minor in Possession of a Firearm. He was subsequently held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility without bond. Legal proceedings followed, during which a motion was filed to transfer Howard's case to the juvenile division of the circuit court. A hearing on this matter was held in January 2022. The court ultimately denied the motion, and the decision was later affirmed upon appeal, ensuring that the suspect would face the serious charges in adult court.
