On October 4, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas, 1-year-old RaNiyah Akira Basir tragically lost her life due to a gunshot wound. Her mother, 29-year-old Keiundrea Davis, contacted emergency services just after noon to report the incident at their residence on Doe Run Drive. Upon arrival, authorities discovered RaNiyah with a gunshot wound to the head. Davis informed officers that her daughter had accidentally shot herself.
