On June 24, 1969, 14-year-old Vivian Strong was fatally shot by Omaha police officer James Loder in the Logan Fontenelle Housing Project in Omaha, Nebraska. Vivian, along with several other teenagers, had been dancing and listening to music in a vacant apartment when police responded to a call reporting a suspected break-in.
