In the spring of 2009, a domestic argument in Buckeye, Arizona, escalated into a tragedy that cut short the life of a dedicated public servant. Kathleen Martin, a 53-year-old sergeant at the State Prison Complex-Lewis, was shot in the shoulder by her husband, John Berry Martin, during a heated dispute on April 15, 2009.
