In a tragic event that unfolded in Tucson, Arizona, 16-year-old Dario G. Morales was killed on November 30, 2009. The incident, which also claimed the life of his 34-year-old mother, Stephanie Y. Breay Morales, was determined by authorities to be a murder-suicide.
The discovery was made in a residence in the 3300 block of North Flowing Wells Road after concerned family members requested a welfare check. Tucson Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 5:20 p.m.
to find Dario, his mother, and his 35-year-old father, Mario Morales Sr., deceased.
Investigations revealed that Dario's parents had recently separated and were living in different homes. On that day, Mario Morales Sr. went to the residence where he fatally shot his son, Dario, and his wife, Stephanie, before turning the gun on himself.
