On December 21, 2024, at approximately 5:00 a.m., 21-year-old Joseph Ortega was fatally shot in the 9000 block of Sovereign Row in northwest Dallas, Texas. Dallas Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Ortega with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter, but Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene.
