On the evening of December 11, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Confederate Circle in Taylors, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 47-year-old Joseph Sterling Barker with a gunshot wound. Barker was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
