On November 24, 2024, at approximately 3:32 a.m., Shaker Heights police responded to reports of multiple gunshots fired in the 17000 block of Shaker Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men deceased from gunshot wounds in the driveway of a residence. The victims were identified as 24-year-old Nisiah Sanders, known by his stage name "Nahzzy," and 30-year-old Myron Rainey, known as "Press PlayMJ."
Both Sanders and Rainey were local rappers from the Cleveland area.
Family members and friends described Sanders as a joyful and playful individual who loved music, while Rainey was remembered for his vibrant spirit. The two men had attended a party at the residence where the shooting occurred.
In the days following the incident, authorities arrested a 39-year-old man residing at the house where the shooting took place. He was charged with criminal trespassing, a first-degree misdemeanor. Court documents revealed that the man and a woman had been living at the property without a lease agreement. The homeowner was reportedly unaware of their presence and had filed eviction paperwork due to unpaid rent and numerous police calls related to drug use, excessive noise, and violent confrontations.
Despite this arrest, no charges have been filed in connection with the deaths of Sanders and Rainey. Investigators have stated that there is no evidence suggesting a third party was involved in the shootings. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office are assisting Shaker Heights police with the ongoing investigation.
