On November 26, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., 31-year-old Nick Roach was discovered outside his residence at 438 S. Kenilworth Ave. in Lima, Ohio. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was unresponsive upon discovery. Despite immediate medical attention, Roach was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center.
In the aftermath of the incident, law enforcement officials identified 43-year-old Javin Mayo as a person of interest.
Mayo, a Lima resident, was known to have a vehicle linked to the crime scene. Authorities executed a search warrant at the Gatehouse Apartments on North Cable Road, where Mayo was believed to be present. However, Mayo was not located during the search and remains at large. He is currently under supervision by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority following previous convictions, including charges of carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon under disability.
