On December 9, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Cleveland police responded to a shooting near the intersection of West 28th Street and Detroit Avenue in the Ohio City neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 54-year-old Harry Lee "Tray" Gist III with a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
