In the early hours of December 9, 2024, the sense of security in a quiet Towson, Maryland, neighborhood was shattered. Inside his grandmother's home on Beaverbank Circle, 19-year-old Andrew Blessing, a male, was asleep when intruders broke in and fatally shot him. The attack, which occurred around 2:30 a.m., was not random; police quickly identified it as a targeted event.
Blessing was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The initial investigation left the community on edge, with no immediate suspects or arrests. Blessing was remembered as a devoted father to a young daughter. In the wake of the tragedy, his grandmother recounted the harrowing experience of hearing the gunshots and rushing downstairs to find her grandson mortally wounded. She described him as a caring and family-oriented young man who was working to take over the family's HVAC business.
Months later, in June 2025, a significant breakthrough in the case brought some answers, though it also revealed a more complex and chilling narrative. Baltimore County Police announced the arrests of two men, 27-year-old Anthony Jackson and 23-year-old Daiquon Ferguson. They were charged with the first-degree murder of Andrew Blessing. The investigation uncovered a grim connection to another homicide. On the same day Blessing was killed, the body of 21-year-old Ammon Rogers was discovered in Baltimore's Druid Hill Park. She had also been shot multiple times, and detectives determined that the same firearm was used in both slayings. According to charging documents, Rogers, who was reportedly Ferguson's girlfriend, was with Blessing at the time of the home invasion.
The legal proceedings against the suspects revealed further troubling details. Daiquon Ferguson was found to have a significant criminal history, including repeat firearms offenses. He had been released on parole just days before Blessing's murder, a decision that drew sharp criticism from Blessing's family. In addition to the two murder charges, Ferguson also faced charges of attempted murder for a separate, non-fatal shooting that occurred in May 2025. Jackson and Ferguson were also charged with kidnapping, burglary, and home invasion in connection with the events of December 9th. Both men were held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. Police have also been investigating a possible link between Blessing's murder and a mass shooting that took place outside a Towson funeral home a week later, as the victims of that attack were known to Blessing and his family, though no definitive connection has been publicly confirmed.
