In the early winter of 2024, a domestic dispute in Shreveport, Louisiana, ended in the tragic death of Albert D. Lott Jr., a 32-year-old male. The incident unfolded on December 3rd at a residence on Dee Street in the Anderson Island neighborhood. During an argument with his wife, Shaletha Deloris Arthur, Lott sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
Following the shooting, the Shreveport Police Department promptly launched an
investigation into the circumstances surrounding Lott's death. Their inquiry led to the arrest of his wife, 34-year-old Shaletha Deloris Arthur. She was taken into custody and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with her husband's homicide, which marked the 48th in the city of Shreveport for the year.
The legal process moved forward, and in a session ending in January 2025, the Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment against Shaletha Deloris Arthur for the second-degree murder of Albert D. Lott Jr. Funeral services for Mr. Lott were held in Shreveport in mid-January 2025, as family and friends gathered to mourn his passing.
