In the early morning hours of December 27, 2024, the life of 31-year-old Kadesha Aundrea Burch was tragically cut short in her Springfield, Kentucky, home. A female, Burch was fatally shot in what authorities have described as a violent home invasion on Claybrook Avenue. Another woman present at the scene, Frances Campbell, age 52, was also shot and subsequently transported to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for her injuries.
The investigation swiftly pointed to 23-year-old
Roosevelt Davis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the primary suspect. Kentucky State Police issued a statewide alert for Davis, who was later apprehended by a Shelbyville police officer during a traffic stop. According to law enforcement, Davis had driven from Milwaukee to Kentucky with the intent to harm Burch and Campbell.
During questioning, Davis reportedly admitted to burglarizing a bank in Milwaukee to purchase the firearms used in the attack. He is accused of forcing his way into the Springfield residence and firing approximately ten shots at the two women. The charges brought against Davis include murder, attempted murder, and first-degree burglary, with the murder and attempted murder charges carrying domestic violence enhancements, indicating a familial relationship with the victims. His bond was set at $2 million. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
