On December 17, 2024, authorities responded to a 911 call at the residence of Dr. James Kimball, 85, and his wife, Mary Ellen Kimball, 83, in Osceola, Iowa. Upon arrival, both individuals were found with gunshot wounds. Dr. James Kimball was transported to a Des Moines hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day. Mary Ellen was taken to Clarke County Hospital in critical condition and passed away on December 20, 2024.
