On December 26, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., Park Forest police responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 300 block of Miami Street. Upon forcibly entering the residence, officers discovered two unresponsive women, aged 51 and 30, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Two unharmed children were also present at the scene.
The 51-year-old victim, identified as Lillian K. Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 30-year-old woman, identified as Sabrina McCain, was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The children found at the residence were taken to local hospitals for evaluation as a precautionary measure.
Preliminary investigations suggest that this was an isolated incident, with indications that the victims and the suspect were acquainted. However, as of the latest available information, authorities have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects publicly.
