On November 25, 2024, 16-year-old Ashton Nicholas Moon was fatally shot in Scottdale, Georgia, just days before his 17th birthday. The incident occurred around 6:17 p.m. at the Oak Forest Apartments on Hatton Drive, where DeKalb County police found Moon suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
