On December 1, 2024, 18-year-old Christopher Perez was fatally shot at Ledbetter Park in Cutler, California. The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m., when Perez was at the park with a 14-year-old companion. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
