On December 22, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to reports of a major traffic collision in the 13000 block of Leota Court in Moreno Valley, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Banning resident, Donneal Eugene Jones, deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office secured the scene, closing the area to both vehicle and foot traffic, and initiated a homicide investigation led by the
Central Homicide Unit. As of now, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects or motives behind the shooting. The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been reported.
