On January 28, 2023, 17-year-old Alejandro Cortez was fatally shot at Posco Beer & Wine on Josey Lane in Carrollton, Texas. Police responded to the scene shortly after 2 p.m., where Cortez was pronounced dead.
Following a 10-day investigation, Carrollton police arrested a juvenile suspect on February 7, 2023. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to their age, was charged with murder in connection with Cortez's death.
