On February 21, 2023, Walter Torres, a 47-year-old father of five, was fatally shot in the back of the head while heading to work in southwest Houston. The incident occurred at the Windfield II apartments, located at 10110 Forum W Dr. An Uber driver discovered Torres's body around 5:23 a.m., with a lunch bag beside him.
