On February 28, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred at Walters Food Mart, located in the 2100 block of Burnet Street on San Antonio's East Side. Two men in their 30s were standing outside the convenience store when individuals in a white sedan traveling northbound opened fire with semi-automatic rifles. The assailants fired over 60 rounds, leaving behind a significant number of shell casings at the scene.
