On April 16, 2024, 49-year-old Ernest Phillips was fatally shot near downtown San Antonio, Texas. Police responded to reports of a shooting and found Phillips with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities identified 36-year-old Jose Alejo as the suspect in Phillips' death. Alejo was arrested on May 25, 2024, and charged with murder. According to the San Antonio Police Department, a witness provided a tip leading to Alejo's ar ...
