Death by Force

Byron T. McKinney, a 24-year-old resident of Chicago, was killed on April 7, 2017, in a drive-by shooting in the Austin neighborhood, located on the city's West Side. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Central Avenue and West Corcoran Place. McKinney was one of six people struck by gunfire during the incident, but he was the only fatality. The other five individuals who were injured were bystanders caught in the crossfire during broad daylight.
