On April 3, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Longview Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near Mobberly Avenue and Young Street in Longview, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Derrick D. Spearman, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Spearman was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
