On May 5, 2023, 19-year-old Gavin Khiem Tran and his friend, 20-year-old Khoi Tran, were fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 8217 Fulton Street in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 6 p.m.

According to the Houston Police Department, the two men were attempting to purchase shoes from an individual when the transaction turned deadly. Witnesses reported seeing three unidentified Black males in a gray or silver Dodge SUV at the scene. One of the men ...
