On May 12, 2023, 34-year-old Jorge Armando Martinez-Canelo was fatally shot in a parking lot in the Love Field area of Dallas, Texas. According to an affidavit, the suspect informed Dallas police that Martinez-Canelo had allegedly pointed a gun at him first.
Martinez-Canelo's passing was formally recorded on May 13, 2023. Funeral services were held at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Dallas, with visitation on May 23 and a funeral service on May 24, followed by interment.
