On May 13, 2023, 39-year-old Luis Martinez was fatally shot in the parking lot of a La Michoacana store located on West 34th Street in northwest Houston, Texas. Surveillance footage captured Martinez parking his truck near the store's entrance around 10 a.m. and entering the establishment. Approximately 15 minutes later, 33-year-old Angel Chavira arrived with his wife and three children, parking near Martinez's vehicle.
