Rene Chaney Knox, aged 26, was fatally shot on March 24, 2007, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 2710 W. Bellfort. Rene Knox, who had relocated to Houston after Hurricane Katrina, was found in his car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses reported hearing a series of six gunshots and saw a man leaving the scene, walking away from a 1998 four-door Cadillac while holding a chrome semi-automatic pistol.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds, and dressed in black athletic gear. Despite witness reports, the identity of the shooter remains unknown, and no arrests were made immediately following the incident. The Houston Police Department, along with Crime Stoppers, has continued to appeal to the public for information that might lead to an arrest, and they have requested that anyone with information contact them directly to aid in solving this case.
