According to the Houston Police Department, Norrod was driving his vehicle when he was shot. Emergency services transported him to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident was linked to a narcotics deal gone wrong. According to investigators, Norrod and others were involved in a transaction when a backseat passenger attempted to stage a robbery, ultimately resulting in Norrod being shot in the head. The suspect fled the scene on foot, and authorities did not have a detailed description of the individual. Police found narcotics inside the vehicle, indicating that those involved knew each other at least casually, as they were all apparently part of the drug exchange.
The case remains unsolved, and Crime Stoppers has offered an increased reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. Originally offering $5,000, the reward has since been increased to $6,700 in an attempt to encourage members of the public to come forward with information. Crime Stoppers has assured potential informants that tips can be made anonymously, and they are actively working with the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division to solve this case.
