On August 7, 2023, at approximately 8:47 p.m., the Walker County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting in the 50 block of Oak Ridge in Huntsville, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 70-year-old Hartsell Gray lying near the back door of the residence. Emergency medical services pronounced him deceased at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.
