On August 20, 2023, in Aubrey, Texas, 30-year-old Stephanie Dominique Ingram was tragically killed in a domestic violence incident. Her boyfriend, 32-year-old Anthony Jontrell Thornton, fatally shot her before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities discovered both individuals deceased at the scene, along with an unharmed infant, who was present during the incident.

The Elm Ridge Police Department responded to the scene on Forsythe Drive in the Savannah neighborhood after receiving reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found the front door ajar and, upon entering, discovered the bodies of Ingram and Thornton. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Ingram died from gunshot wounds to the head and neck, classifying her death as a homicide, while Thornton's death was ruled a suicide due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Ingram was a mother of four, with her youngest child being only four weeks old at the time of her death. Family members described her as a loving, fun, and generous person who was deeply devoted to her children. In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was organized by her family to assist with funeral expenses and support for her children.

This incident highlights the devastating impact of domestic violence, leaving a family and community in mourning. The investigation was treated as an isolated domestic incident between two individuals in a dating relationship, with no ongoing threat to the public. The Elm Ridge Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
