April Robinson, a 37-year-old woman from Aubrey, Texas, tragically lost her life on October 14, 2020. She and her 18-year-old son, Donovan Fielder, were shot and killed by her boyfriend, Cory Washington. Washington, who was 39 years old at the time, called 911 to report the incident and surrendered to police without incident when they arrived at the scene.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at their residence in the 9200 block of Blackstone Drive in Providence Village. According to police reports, both victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Washington was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder. He remains in custody with a bail set at $1 million.
Family members revealed that April and Donovan had moved to Texas from Lexington, Kentucky, about nine years prior, along with Washington. They described the relationship between April and Washington as abusive, both physically and verbally, over the years. The couple had three daughters, who were placed in protective custody following the incident.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, and authorities have not yet determined a motive for the killings. The surviving family members are working to bring April and Donovan's bodies back to Lexington for a proper funeral and burial.
