Upon arrival, officers found Shyne with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center, Shyne succumbed to his injuries.

At the scene, law enforcement detained 40-year-old Tramaine Rondell Dunn, who was found in a white car. After collecting witness statements, Dunn was arrested and charged with murder. He was subsequently booked into the Harrison County Jail.
