On March 23, 2014, 19-year-old African American male Jalen Juwan White was fatally shot in Marshall, Texas. The incident occurred at the Rumors Arcade, located in the 100 block of West Pinecrest Drive. A dispute that began inside the venue escalated and spilled into the parking lot, where gunfire erupted. Jalen Juwan White was struck by the gunfire and transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall, where he succumbed to his injuries.
