On September 9, 2023, 26-year-old Shantavia Briana "Bree" Reddick tragically lost her life in Spring, Texas. An esteemed third-grade teacher at Smith Elementary School in the Spring Independent School District, Reddick was recognized as the district's Rookie Teacher of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year. She held a bachelor's degree from Prairie View A&M University and had recently earned a master's degree from Texas Southern University.
