On the evening of October 23, 2023, at approximately 9:59 p.m., Denton police officers responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located in the 1600 block of East McKinney Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Daniel Joseph Ryan suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Officers administered life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, after which Ryan was transported to a local hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
