Ty Jordan, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically died on December 25, 2020, in Denton, Texas. He was a rising star in college football, playing as a running back for the University of Utah and had been named the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman Player of the Year for 2020. Jordan's death was ruled an accidental shooting. According to reports, he accidentally shot himself in the abdomen at an apartment in Denton.
