On November 5, 2023, 52-year-old Maria Del Carmen Mendez was found deceased in her Haltom City, Texas, residence, the victim of a fatal shooting. Upon responding to a welfare check at approximately 6:30 a.m., police discovered Maria's body alongside her husband, 53-year-old Luciano Mendez, who was critically injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
