On November 22, 2023, in Rendon, Texas, 84-year-old Bertha Bailey and her daughter, 60-year-old Shari Bailey, were fatally shot in their home on Joalene Court. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office identified the primary suspect as Kaitlyn Bailey, 25, who is both Bertha's granddaughter and Shari's daughter.
