On December 25, 2023, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Killeen Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1400 block of North College Street in Killeen, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Roccordo Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services attempted life-saving measures; however, Davis was pronounced deceased at 4:28 p.m.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 20-year-old male suspect, who was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter. The suspect was booked into the Killeen City Jail.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed the relationship between Davis and the suspect or the events leading up to the shooting. An autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas to determine the exact cause of death.
