On March 19, 2024, Nicholas Hughes, a 29-year-old resident of Beaumont, Texas, was found deceased from a gunshot wound in an alley behind Ace's convenience store, located in the 2000 block of Magnolia Avenue.

The Beaumont Police Department promptly initiated an investigation and identified 35-year-old Beaumont resident Malcolm Jamall Haymond as a suspect in Hughes' death. A murder warrant was issued for Haymond's arrest, with a bond set at $900,000 by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Be ...
