On April 7, 2024, 24-year-old Abel Alvarado Martínez was fatally shot in the driveway of his home in Irving, Texas. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Ouida Street, where officers responding to a disturbance call found Martínez with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragedy unfolded following a dispute between Martínez and his former tenants.
According to family members, 32-year-old Erik Natanael Amador Godoy and his siblings had been renting a guest house on the Martínez property. They were evicted after failing to pay rent and causing damage to the family's vehicles. Tensions escalated when Martínez confronted the tenants about the damages, leading to the fatal shooting.
In the aftermath, authorities identified Amador Godoy as the primary suspect. He was last seen driving a dark gray Toyota Corolla with Texas license plate SWD 0839, notable for distinctive stickers, including a large "#TodasMienten" decal on the back window. Investigators believe he fled to Mexico shortly after the incident. An arrest warrant was also issued for his 18-year-old brother, Franklin Amador, with both suspects now believed to be in Honduras.
As of December 2024, both Erik and Franklin Amador remain at large. The Irving Police Department continues to seek information regarding their whereabouts, urging the public to report any leads. The Martínez family, still mourning the loss of Abel, appeals for justice and the apprehension of the suspects responsible for his death.
