The initial report came from Christopher Robertson's brother, who, upon returning home after several days away, found Christopher highly intoxicated and noticed a foul odor emanating from the bedroom. Upon investigation, he found Kristlynne's body and promptly contacted authorities.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined that Kristlynne had been fatally shot in the head. At the scene, officers attempted to question Christopher Robertson, but his level of intoxication rendered him incapable of providing coherent responses. The following day, Christopher contacted 911, confessing to the murder of his wife and expressing fear of retribution from his father-in-law. He stated, "I actually killed his daughter." When police met with him subsequently, he reiterated his confession and surrendered the firearm he claimed to have used in the shooting.
Christopher Robertson, 33, was arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, Kristlynne. He was booked into the Tarrant County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
