Tiara Bri'Nae Williams, an 18-year-old African American female, tragically lost her life on December 12, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a freshman at Langston University in Oklahoma, majoring in business, and had just returned home for the holidays when she was killed. Tiara was a recent graduate of Dunbar High School and the captain of the cheerleading squad.
Tiara was found dead inside the Stop 6 Food Store around 11 p.m. after a shooting.
Investigators determined that she was not involved in the apparent argument that led to the shooting and was caught in the crossfire. Her death was ruled a homicide, and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that she died from a gunshot wound to the back.
The Fort Worth Police Department has been actively investigating the case, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved. Tiara's family and friends have pleaded for help from the community, hoping that someone with information will come forward to bring justice for her. The family has also received an outpouring of support from the community, with hundreds of students and staff attending her memorial service to honor her memory.
Despite the tragedy, Tiara's legacy lives on through the love and memories shared by her family, friends, and the community. Her father, Ricky Williams Jr., and mother, Angela Albert, continue to seek justice for their beloved daughter.
