Lafey Briuna Harps, a 19-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on May 17, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was visiting her cousin at an apartment complex in southeast Fort Worth when she became an unintended victim of gang violence. Briuna was sitting outside with her cousin when a car drove by and someone opened fire, hitting her in the head. Her dream was to become a doctor and help others, but her life was cut short by this senseless act of violence.
