On May 18, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident at the Broadstone Paragon Apartments, located in the 2400 block of N. Washington Avenue in Old East Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered two sisters, 22-year-old Jalisa Lockett and 24-year-old Amaya Lockett, deceased from gunshot wounds. A third victim, identified as Moises Flores, who was Amaya's boyfriend, sustained two gunshot wounds and was transported to Baylor Hospital in stable condition.
